The blue Sanofi JuniorSTAR is a manual reusable pen for standard 3 mL cartridges. It provides audible clicks and 0.5-unit increments for finer control, with a maximum selectable amount of 30 units.
The JuniorSTAR blocks selecting an amount larger than what remains and requires a spacer for complete cartridge use. A travel case is included.

My partner loves this pen. I originally got it for me to dose half units however she got her hands on it and fell in love with it.
She has smaller hands and likes a thinner pen that easier to push than a thicker pen. I might have to order another one for myself since it’s been hijacked. lol.

This is my primary pen, I have several. Needs a spacer (look for 3/8 inch or 9mm flat washers) to make sure the cartridge empties, but this is truly minor. Robust, precise, easy to use, wastes only 1/2 unit per shot for the purges.

The pen is very lightweight but solid. I love that it dispenses in half-units and the mechanism is the smoothest of any pen I’ve used.

Can’t go wrong. Delivery isn’t “smooth” but that’s because of the audible clicks. I think I prefer something that doesn’t click per unit. I purchased because it’s the only option for .5 dosing. The Novopen .5 pen is too expensive.

Overall great pen, I picked it for half-unit increments. I didn’t initially realize the trade-off was it has a 30-unit max dose but that’s not a huge deal. I will say when dispensing the max, the operation isn’t as smooth as it could be, probably because of the audible clicks as someone else mentioned. Remember to buy a spacer if you want to ensure the cartridge can completely empty. Would recommend if you’re looking for precision and minimal waste.
